The Comp 8.3 Drive - a passive broadband loudspeaker with an integrated active subwoofer.
Here, too, there is a feature that characterizes all AUDIUM products - the combination of seemingly contradictory properties!
This combination allows the use of an amplifier with low power reserves such. a triode tube amplifier.
The Amp only drives the fullrange driver, the 22cm woofer built into the base is powered by the integrated 180W power amplifier.
A DSP also allows the loudspeaker to be tuned to the listening room in the bass.
The current version 3 of the amplifier module sets another milestone:
The power pack has now been integrated directly into the amplifier module. A linear power supply with a 225VA toroidal transformer replaces the external switching power supply of the .2 line and provides even more pressure, punch and precision in the bass reproduction.
The new module now also offers the flexibility in terms of upgrades that is already known from the smaller models: all the electronics are located on the module and can be easily exchanged for another module, terminal or the passive crossover. Thus, nothing stands in the way of changes to passive, active or air and your AUDIUMs can grow with your requirements.
And all tube and digital amplifiers will be satisfied about the impedance correction because the impedance-dependent reproduction in the high-frequency range is now a thing of the past.
The Comp 8.3 Drive - more than the sum of its parts!
